Introducing the Alexandra Tolstoy x Chloe Stewart Collective collaboration.
Alexandra and Chloe have been working together to design a beautiful, folk inspired table setting. The pure cotton tablecloth and matching napkins are hand-embroidered using Alexandra’s favourite naive blanket and running stitches in Soweto, Kenya where Chloe Stewart Collective is based.
Chloe Stewart Collective is a social enterprise that teaches hand-embroidery skills to women in Kenya, improving livelihoods, one stitch at a time. Pathways are created out of poverty for women in Nairobi, where 70% of households live on less than a dollar a day. By teaching traditional hand embroidery in the low-income Kayole settlement, local women are given new skills and find fulfilling and fairly paid work.
